The kitchen at The Beeches is the real heart of the home with a stunning handmade Smallbone kitchen by designer Mark Wilkinson. Natural light from the bifold doors floods the kitchen area and creates a wonderful light and spacious place to cook. The porcelain tiled floor, underfloor heating and impressive central island give a convivial space for everyone to gather and relax.
The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances; a large Aga dominates the room with 2 cooking chambers, 2 hobs and a warming plate, and has ample space to cook for all your guests. A Neff dishwasher, large double fridge with water purifier and ice machine, and pull out large freezer drawer, microwave and pantry cupboard for all your essentials to be stored.
Leading from the kitchen is a handy utility room with a stable door to outside - so ideal to come in this way and take off any muddy boots or dry down your muddy dog; it also includes a sink area and washing machine. In the main hub of the kitchen is a small table ideal for relaxed breakfasts for the early risers.
From the kitchen and up one wooden step is the impressive dining room featuring a natural stone fireplace, restored and refurbished from the original cottage that was on the site. It gives the space a real homely feel and with the added log burner, finished with warm lighting it is a beautiful space to gather your family and share a celebratory meal. There is dining for 10 and up to 14 with using the table from the kitchen. There is also a large wall-mounted flat-screen TV.
With access from the dining area, down one step, or via the double doors next to the Games Room, you are greeted with a fabulous lounge with large windows which flood the room with an abundance of light. From here you can relax and take in the best views of the patio, garden area and the far reaching views across the valley. The French doors to the front also open out directly onto the patio so you can enjoy the summer sun from inside and out.
The lounge space features a large corner sofa that seats at least 6 comfortably with 3 additional leather chairs, the door in the corner loops you back around to the dining space. A natural stone built fireplace sits in between 2 large windows with working log burner which creates a warm and cosy atmosphere, perfect for those cooler months. The lounge also has a large wall-mounted flat-screen TV and surround sound speakers.
Located on Darley hillside, The Beeches offers amazing views and a perfect base to explore the Derbyshire Dales. There are two entrances to the property, the main entrance is the wooden door at the front, and there is also access via the bi-fold doors into the kitchen. The patio has a small table and 4 chairs and a lovely large seating area featuring rattan sofas, comfy cushions, and side tables.
This patio area flows around to the front of the property, where you can take in the beautiful far reaching views. Here you will find a stone patio with Chiminea, a large wooden table, chairs and a parasol that can seat 10 guests. There is a large flat lawn area, which is great for ball games, and this leads to smaller lawn areas, feature walls and raised beds - the steps are uneven towards the bottom of the garden, so please be careful. The following comments are taken straight from the guestbook we keep for The Beeches. Verbatim.
We stayed at the Beeches for my wife’s 50th birthday who wanted to spend the weekend with our 3 grown up daughters, their partners and her parents. We also took our grandson and a small dog. The house was perfect. It has a large open plan kitchen where most of us gathered and a large comfortable lounge. The bedrooms were all a good size and my wife was very pleased with the master bedroom and huge en-suite. Storm Bert made the weather wet and windy during our weekend stay, but it didn’t dampen our family celebrations and we all had a wonderful time
The house was stunning and perfect for a visit to Chatsworth and the surrounding countryside. David was really responsive to messages and was a superb host. Perfect for a large get together in lovely countryside. It’s a shame we visited when it was not summer, as the garden was lovely and I can imagine would be fantastic to have evening meals and drinks in.
We had such a lovely weekend to celebrate with family. The view is something else and every part of the house is spot on. Everything had been thought of down to kids cutlery. We would love to come back one day
A really nice house that is perfect for family gatherings set in a great location and providing luxury accommodation for all ages. Host David provided everything needed and there is plenty of optional extras available to make a stay even more memorable.
Wonderful accommodation. Just as advertised - very accurate photos. Quality of decoration and fittings top class - very well designed. Excellent location, great views. Very helpful and friendly owner.
Excellent stay in a very private home. One of the best views I’ve experienced staying in the UK
We had a lovely stay at The Beeches, gorgeous homely property, and beautiful garden and surroundings. Booking process was very easy and responsive to our queries. David, met us for check in, which was easy to arrange. Would recommend a stay here.
Our family of 8 adults and 5 children loved this home. David was an outstanding host providing all that we needed. He was very responsive as well and went out of his way to get us whatever we needed. It’s a beautiful location with stunning views. It is high on a hill so plan for some hilly walks if you want to walk to the village. It is very close to Chatsworth House and the sites of the Derbyshire Dales.
Amazing stay - this house was absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend! Spacious, meticulously clean and super well furnished. The kitchen had everything we possibly could have needed! The garden was stunning for photos with bridesmaids etc before the ceremony. Just perfect in every way! Thank you David
Great property for a family birthday celebration with 3 generations. Lots of space, high quality, well laid out and brilliant views. Well located for visiting the best spots in the peaks. Would highly recommend.
This was our second stay at The Beeches. It is the most beautiful house, in a gorgeous setting. It is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The views from the garden are beautiful! Would definitely recommend.

Lovely stay, fantastic place! Beautiful house and space overall!
Had 8 of us for my wife's 50th birthday. Such a beautiful, comfortable place. Easily accommodated everyone with room to spare. Stunning views, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need, plenty of space for everyone to spread out and chat and relax. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Our stay here was amazing! The house is even better in person, the surroundings are beautiful, and the pool table got a lot of use! David was a great host, flexible check-in and checkout, very communicative and friendly. Would definitely recommend (and hope to come back again soon).

Thank you for an absolutely fantastic weekend at The Beeches, celebrating a 70th and 40th birthday. The house was amazing - the accommodation, weather and gardens. We had a fantastic day at Chatsworth which is well worth a visit and also welcomed a private chef in one evening to cook for us which was an absolute luxury. David of The Beeches was brilliant and so accommodating. Thank you for a fantastic weekend - we hope to be back soon!
we had an amazing time in this beautiful house. Even through the stormy weather the house was a comfortable, warm space for our family to spend time together to celebrate our incredible Nan. It is very well equipped and the pool table was definitely a family favourite. Our dog Arya also had a lovely stay and bringing her meant that she got to enjoy some beautiful and scenic walks in the area. Thank you so much. Amazing memories were made.
Lovely home we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you, amazing weekend.
A very enjoyable family get together in your wonderful house. It is spacious, comfortable and superbly equipped. Much use was made of the pool table by all ages. A good location for walks and lovely views from the garden. We can recommend Shalimar as a good Indian restaurant and Chatsworth is a must. Some lovely memories to take home.
It was a last minute decision to get the family together following my wife's medical situation, and I was not disappointed at all... The property was everything we could have wished for.. The host was excellent and very cooperative in whatever we asked for.. We would certainly consider re visiting the property in the future.

Highly recommend the location - didn't need to venture far although enjoyed visits to Chatsworth, Bakewell and Matlock. Lots of wonderful memories made. xx
Absolutely stunning! Jaw dropping, could not have wished for better for our family reunion - Canadians and Brits. Time flew too fast a sign that we had an amazing time here as much inside as outside. Perfectly located we enjoyed the surroundings (Buxton, Matlock, Bakewell) the high peak trail in Cromford, the running trail along the railway, walking back up the hill was a great workout too! Pool table was a hit a few tournaments with a few night caps- so many wonderful memories, sitting around the fire and connecting with each other. Thank you!

A family weekend to celebrate our daughter's 40th birthday. Six adults, three children and two dogs all had a wonderful time! Great venue for such an event!
David met us a The Beeches and communication was great before our arrival. It’s an absolutely beautiful home and for 10 adults was perfect. Kitchen is huge and so we could all chip in with catering. The dining room was perfect and we used the lounge very little because we had great weather! The bedrooms and bathrooms are amazing with all mod cons and we loved it. The outside seating areas are lovely for the beautiful views and peace and quiet. The BBQ worked well for us and the Aga too, even for a roast dinner on Sunday for 10. Really do hope we get to do this again - a perfect way to celebrate my 60th Birthday - thank you David.
Wow! Fantastic, could not be better. Thank you for the sunshine!!
David is a fabulous host! The property is incredible. The gardens beautiful with excellent views!

The kitchen was very well equipped, the whole house was spotless, lovely decor and all done to a very high spec. They'll be fights as who get the amazing master bedroom! The pool table was a particular hit and got all the family involved. The surroundings were beautiful and the house well situated to visited Peaks, Chatsworth house and we enjoyed a trip to Bakewell for the infamous Bakewell tart! We had a lovely weekend and all wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you for an amazing stay.
We came as a family to celebrate our parents wedding anniversary! 40 years! It would be an understatement to simply give you a 5 star review. You have though of all amenities and it is like going from home to home. David the host even helped the 'oldies' carry their bags down the stairs, which shows you are a humble and kind person. We look forward to returning in the near future and we would highly recommend this to all our friends and family. What we loved: Lots of natural light Attention to detail Comfortable beds Stunning views Full equipped kitchen Gorgeous master bedroom Lovely bathrooms Many thanks
Lovely to gather with all 3 families to celebrate Grandma D's 70th birthday (she really does not look that old!) The 4 little ones had a wonderful time in the garden we had some lovely walks outside in the woods. The adults really appreciated the size and space of the lovely house. Grandma and Grandad naturally had the master bedroom (suite) and loved the decor. More ideas for home (£££!!) The weather forecast was wrong- we were able to sit outside every day and had cake and candles out there too. Thank you to David and Helen for a lovely weekend.
A wonderful house to celebrate a rather 'big birthday!' The whole family have really enjoyed our stay. The house is so well equipped and we all appreciated the lovely indoor and outdoor space as well as the glorious views. We have been so lucky with the weather and have enjoyed the beautiful Peak District. Many thanks, we would love to return.
Perfect place for a two family get-together (London and Yarm.) Fab house, very well appointed/equipped and in a great setting. On balance The Southerns defeated The Norths as overall pool champions! Already planning our next return (& revenge!) Thanks David for providing everything for us and letting us share your fantastic house.
Great location, great property and a great host. Would highly recommend

The bathrooms are new and to a high standard. We enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen. Perfect for a family or group of friends for a quiet getaway.

Lovely House, great location. Perfect socialising space for friends and families alike. Very well equipped too. All beds super comfy - home from home. Thanks David for being on hand when needed, albeit no issues. The house is a great base to visit the local countryside villages and walks. We hope to come again. Luckily for us we don't live too far. The summer time would be amazing so we can take advantage of the lovely outdoor space. Thanks again David for being so accommodating and welcoming.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. The Beeches was lovely, a very comfortable stay. David found us a wonderful chef who cooked us a beautiful meal at the property, highly recommended. Walking was lovely, beautiful places to visit. Lots of pubs in lovely villages. We will be back for sure.

A beautiful home, perfect for getting friends and family together with its wonderful open plan kitchen dining room leading into the pool table room. All the bedrooms are a great size and whoever gets the master bedroom will love the extra level of luxury.
The owner was extremely helpful whenever we needed anything. The property was perfect for our party
Excellent house for large family gathering with plenty of facilities for cooking and eating together. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses and dishes as well as pots and pans. Access to the house is not that easy with some manoeuvering needed to access the parking area. The house is very spacious, and bedrooms very clean and comfortable, and showers were excellent. Host communicated very well and helped us promptly with any issues, and we were grateful for a more relaxed check out on Sunday morning.
Thank you so much for a great stay. An excellent house - plenty of room for the whole family to relax. Thank you for allowing us a relaxed Sunday morning.
Thanks for a great stay and for your help and allowing us a later check out which was much appreciated.
David Thank you for providing lovely flowers and a card for my birthday. What a thoughtful gesture. And your house which is a stylish venue for our family gathering. We have thoroughly enjoyed all the comforts in The Beeches and wish you all the success for the future.
Thank you for a wonderful stay! The property is stunning and so beautifully furnished and we were so grateful for the extra Christmas decorations. Standard is exceptional and we all enjoyed the space and luxury. A long awaited family reunion from all across the globe. Truly memorable! Excellent communication with David who helped us on a number of occasions with minor issues, without complaint and always with a smile. Thank you
60th birthday celebration, we had a wonderful weekend thank you so much for letting us stay in your special house. We enjoyed spending time together it was great to make beautiful memories. It would be lovely to come again in the summer. Thanks again.
An ultra-luxurious, impeccably appointed, five star property, with all amenities, splendid views and creature comforts. Well stocked, glassware, crockery etc - high end appliances and finishing (inc. F&P fridge/freezer / AGA / underfloor heating/ smart TVs) - if you are looking for all the comforts of a five star hotel, with the freedom of your own space, look no further. David is a great host and has put a lot of effort into making this place truly remarkable. Great views over countryside.
Celebrating my milestone 65th birthday in your amazing, beautiful, home was a super gift from my family. The time here in your more than luxurious house made a big difference to our time together. The area is beautiful. We will definitely come back again.
We couldn’t fault our stay at The Beeches. The house was immaculate and was fully stocked with everything we could have needed for a autumnal weekend stay with our kids and dog in tow. The house is exactly as it appears in photographs and the views from the property are stunning. The rooms are all spacious yet still felt cosy and inviting and the log burners were perfect for cosying up after our wet walks in the local area. David was an attentive and relaxed host who made us feel very welcome. Thank you!
We've had an amazing time. A great comfortable space and we had everything we needed. The Plough was also a fantastic pub. Many thanks
Everything was great with our stay. Many thanks.
We have had a really lovely week staying in this stunning house with amazing views. The level of luxury provided by the furnishings and fittings is next level. We appreciated the plentiful cooking, crockery and glassware etc for our family meals. In fact, there was literally nothing we couldn't find - which is highly unusual! More importantly, we all agreed that the house is homely and cosy, despite its size and it has a lovely 'vibe'. We'd love to return in summer months to use the lovely outdoor space alot more - although we did manage one October BBQ.
David was an absolute pleasure to work with. Really helpful and efficient. The beeches is immaculate. Stunning location, beautiful mixture of style (modern and classic), I would highly highly recommend this venue to people for a luxury and relaxing stay.
The check in process was very easy, the owner was at the house waiting to welcome me and my family. We were running late on our arrival and the owner stayed at the property to wait for us. He then took the time to show me around and explain where everything is located, and how things work. The owner is easy to contact from early in the morning until late in the evening . We requested a coffee machine and a tumble dryer which the owner brought to us straight away. The property is in a perfect location for visiting city’s, we’ve visited Manchester, York and Birmingham easily from this location. There are also great places to visit nearby, me and my family really enjoyed our afternoon at Chatsworth House. There is a large supermarket very close by. We have enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it for a further two nights. The house is full of everything you could need. The heating is good. The view from the house is amazing. We have really enjoyed spending time in the garden there’s plenty of room for everyone to sit and relax. The house is very clean and the bed rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, overall the house is amazing! I would highly recommend this property and will definitely be visiting again when in the UK.
