Watersports in the Peak District

A popular destination for watersports is Carsington Sports & Leisure Centre based at Carsington - one of the largest reservoirs in the UK open all year round and is a hive for activity, offering a range of courses for beginners and boat hire as well as fly fishing by boat, you can walk or ride a bike around it, visit the watersports centre, or even hire the electric bikes. There is also a lovely restaurant, cafe, shops and an excellent playground for children.

If it’s more of a gentle paddle you’re after then, there is plenty of tranquil waterways to enjoy a day canoeing, including the ‘Tittesworth Reservoir’ near Leek and an awesome 4 mile canoe trip experience down the lovely River Derwent from Darley Bridge to Matlock Bath.

The team at ​Rapid Horizons provide Tandem Orca Kayaking and Tubing at Darley Dale, Matlock on the River Derwent, which flows through the beautiful Peak District National Park.

Rudyard Lake are based near Leek, offer many watersport activities including canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and rowing boats.
