Ground Floor
What makes the Barn truly special is the stunning dining room. It features high, beamed ceilings, warm lighting, and oak floors, creating an inviting atmosphere. It’s furnished with a mix of chairs and benches, offering flexible dining arrangements that will comfortably seat 26 guests.
Adjoining this space is a beautifully designed kitchen, fitted with modern units and ample work surfaces. The kitchen boasts a large island with casual bar seating, making it a central hub for meal prep and socialising. It’s fully stocked with all the necessary equipment and appliances to cater to larger groups.
The Barn offers spacious open-plan areas for gatherings while also featuring plenty of cosy nooks for quieter moments. In the eaves of The Annexe just across from the Barn, on the first floor, you’ll find a fantastic games room. This comes complete with a table tennis table, TV, comfortable seating, and other entertainment options. At the far end, there’s a pool table along with a kitchenette and a convenient W/C, making it the perfect spot for some relaxed fun during your stay.
In front of The Barn, there’s a large patio area with picnic benches and a charcoal BBQ available from April 1st to October 31st (don’t forget to bring your own charcoal and lighting).
Private parking accommodates up to 15-20 cars, and the site offers two 7kw electric car chargers (minimal charges apply).
To respect the peaceful surroundings, we ask guests to be inside by 10pm to maintain the venue’s quiet atmosphere.

Less than 20 minutes away is Carsington Water, where you can enjoy a range of activities like cycling, bird watching, fishing, and water sports.
Holly Bush Barn is also perfectly situated to explore the charming Peak District villages, nearby spa towns, and the historic market towns of Ashbourne and Bakewell. Don’t miss a visit to The Royal Oak at Hurdlow for delicious home-cooked meals.

1. High Peak Trail
With the High Peak Trail just steps away, you can enjoy 17.5 miles of scenic walking and cycling along this historic railway line, from Cromford’s High Peak Junction to Dowlow near Buxton. The nearest access point is just half a mile from Pikehall. Along the way, you’ll pass notable railway landmarks such as High Peak Junction Workshops and Middleton Top Engine House. Perfect for walkers, cyclists, and horse riders, this traffic-free trail immerses you in beautiful countryside. Cycle hire is available nearby at Middleton Top.
2. Carsington Water
Just a 20-minute drive away, Carsington Water is a 2-mile-long reservoir offering a range of activities. Whether you’re walking or cycling, there are routes for all abilities, including a 3-mile walk and an 8-mile cycling trail. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy bird watching, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, and paddleboarding. The visitor centre offers dining, shops, and a water sports centre, while picnic areas and a playground provide fun for all ages.
3. Alton Towers
Just 40 minutes away, Alton Towers is one of Britain’s top theme parks, offering a thrilling day out for all ages. From adrenaline-pumping rides to CBeebies Land for younger children, it’s a must-visit destination. 5. Chatsworth House and Park
A visit to the Peak District wouldn’t be complete without exploring the magnificent Chatsworth House. From the historic stately home to the 100-acre gardens, it’s a destination for all ages. Children will love the Farmyard and Adventure Playground, while the gardens feature impressive sculptures and water features. Whether getting lost in the maze or enjoying the famous water cascade, there’s something for everyone.
