Whether you want to spend the evening celebrating in the Peak District with friends or family, putting on your best party dress and black tie and dancing the night away, enjoy some fine dining, watch a spectacular fireworks display or just keep it low key, then there's something for everyone for New Years Eve in the Peak District.
There are many New Year events taking place in the area with some great New Years' eve packages and we’ve rounded up a few of the top events happening in and around the Peak District:
Of course, there is an abundance of local cosy pubs to bring in the New Year, many with live entertainment and festivities on offer. But if it’s a quieter night you’re after and don’t want to go crazy at New Year, then why not catch a winter sunset in the Peak District?
If it wasn’t already beautiful enough with its snow-covered hilltops and amber hues, catching a winter sunset together would be the perfect end to the day (just make sure you take a torch out for the way back). A great place to catch this is Black Rocks, which is a popular walking area with the best views. The viewpoint can be reached by a short but steep climb from the car park, but the vista makes it worth it!
You could also enjoy a New Year walk in a quiet corner of the Peak District National Park and discover the impressive 'Dragons Back' (Parkhouse Hill & Chrome Hill). Enjoy this 5.4-mile hill walk, with its sharp limestone hills, hay meadows and soft pastures of Dove Valley, near Buxton. You could also carry on the walk a little further and reach our sister pub The Royal Oak and enjoy a great selection of drinks and delicious food in this charming country pub.
Catch a sunset on the High Wheeldon walk. A short but steep hike, but definitely worth the uphill struggle for the amazing views!
Head out for an earlier New Years' celebration with a visit to Yin & Yoga at the Coach House Studios in Wirksworth, Matlock. A perfect way to spend a low-key New years eve and get 2025 off to a peaceful start!
